The first concert of minimal3 took place at an art exhibition in Lausanne, where they played free improvisations in a minimalistic way. Although the three musicians never played in this constellation before, they knew from start that their new band was born. The fact that everyone of the trio composes brings a lot of different fragments and sounds as an input, on which they build together new songs. The tense and thrillingly context between them lifts even the rehearsals to high-end levels and is maybe the most exciting work process of all, which can be heard in many songs.
Launched from free improvisations, combined with elements from minimal-techno and other electronic styles, finally blended with hard-rock riffs, minimal3 found a way of creating their own style and sound, which they’re able to express in heartrendingly and brittle Ballads, in free improvisations as well as in roaring, vigorous and electrifying groove-tunes.
